INDIANAPOLIS (Feb. 10, 2020) — Emplify, a data-driven employee engagement improvement company, today announced key executive hires and plans to increase its workforce by almost 20 percent in 2020.
The company has appointed Kurt Phillips as chief financial officer and Gabby VanAlstine as director of people operations. Phillips has spent his entire career in finance and operations roles at B2B technology companies. Most recently, Phillips served as CFO and COO at eshots, a Chicago-based event marketing software company.
As director of people operations, VanAlstine will serve under chief people officer Adam Weber and lead Emplify’s hiring efforts. Most recently, VanAlstine served as a full-time professor at Indiana University Kokomo, where she taught courses like Organizational Behavior and Human Resources Management. Prior to her stint in higher education, VanAlstine led the Human Resources function as Director of Talent for One Click Ventures.

In January, Emplify increased its sales team by more than 50 percent to support the demand for its employee engagement products and services catalyzed by 2019 growth. It plans to increase its workforce by 20 percent in 2020. Open positions include roles in product engineering, sales and customer success.
Emplify announced its $15M Series B capital raise in October, the second-largest in Indiana in 2019. Additionally, Emplify collected 9.4M unique points of employee feedback, a 74 percent increase over 2018.
